Our story
The Metro brand was launched in 1999 as a London only free newspaper. It was designed to be a concise read for urbanites on the commute, containing bite-sized news and local information. We now distribute 1.4 million copies across 50 UK cities every weekday morning, making us the UK’s third largest newspaper (and world’s biggest free newspaper!) with over 3.6 million daily readers.
We engage millions of more urbanites with the same short, stimulating content throughout the day online and via mobile products with our suite of apps. Metro is a forward-thinking brand with a mobile first strategy, committed to our consumers who are at the heart of everything we do.
